Oscar Gertsch

Oscar David Gertsch is an attorney and certified mediator in Athens, Georgia practicing primarily in the areas of divorce, family law, and estate planning. He is a graduate of Furman University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in the Army’s Quartermaster Corps.
Oscar’s military career includes two overseas assignments to Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division, Air Assault. Oscar obtained the rank of Captain and his military awards include the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Army Parachutist Badge, and the Army Air Assault Badge.
After his second deployment, Oscar left the Army and enrolled in law school at the Florida State University College of Law. Oscar gained experience working at Nexsen Pruet, LLC in Greenville, SC; Cobb Law Group in Thomasville, GA; the Florida Department of Community Affairs and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation in Tallahassee, FL.
Oscar established his law practice in Athens, Georgia. His practice is located to serve clients in Clarke, Oconee, Jackson, Barrow, Walton, Morgan, Greene, Oglethorpe, and Madison counties in Northeast Georgia.
Oscar is a member of the American Bar Association (Real Property, Trusts & Estates Law Section), the State Bar of Georgia (Family Law and Young Lawyers Division Sections) and the Western Circuit Bar Association. He is also a certified mediator by the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution in the areas of domestic relations and general civil mediation.

Stephany Garcia-Herrera
Stephany Garcia-Herrera is a dedicated and passionate attorney whose legal career has been driven by advocacy, service, and a commitment to helping others navigate some of life’s most challenging moments. Originally from Queens, New York.
Stephany earned her Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law, where she distinguished herself through leadership and public service. While attending law school, she was selected for a fellowship with the Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services Program, assisting in the representation of low-income individuals in a variety of legal matters, including estate planning and legal name changes. She also volunteered with the Adult Guardianship and Assistance Monitoring Program, further strengthening her commitment to protecting vulnerable populations. In addition, Stephany served as President of the Latino/a Law Student Association, where she advocated for diversity, mentorship, and professional development within the legal community.
Following law school, Stephany began her legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Hall County Juvenile Court, where she gained invaluable insight into the judicial process and developed a strong foundation in legal analysis, courtroom procedure, and child welfare matters.
Stephany later transitioned into the practice of family law, where she discovered her true passion: helping individuals and families through difficult and emotionally complex legal matters throughout the state of Georgia. Through hard work, dedication, and leadership, she advanced from Staff Attorney to managing and leading her own legal team at a well-known Marietta family law firm. Her experience handling sensitive family law matters has equipped her with the compassion and strategic advocacy necessary to effectively represent clients during some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Most recently, Stephany served as a prosecutor with the Hall County Solicitors Office further expanding her courtroom experience and sharpening her litigation and trial advocacy skills.
As a bilingual attorney fluent in both Spanish and English, Stephany is uniquely positioned to serve and advocate for a broad range of clients. Clients and colleagues describe her as compassionate, detail-oriented, approachable, and an exceptional listener who takes the time to understand her clients’ concerns while fiercely advocating on their behalf.
